ಶಿರಾ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ಪುರಸಭೆಯೆಂದು 1901ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿತವಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು 31/12/2006ರಂದು ನಗರಸಭೆಯಾಗಿ ಪರಿವರ್ತನೆಯಾಯಿತು. ಶಿರಾ ನಗರವು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು-ಪೂನಾ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ-04 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಿಂದ 146 ಕಿಮಿ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ನಗರದ ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆ 2001ರ ಸಮೀಕ್ಷೆಯಂತೆ 50,088. ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ 31 ವಾರ್ಡ್‌ಗಳಿದ್ದು ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯ ಚುನಾಯಿತ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ನಗರಸಭೆಯ ವಿಸ್ತೀರ್ಣ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿ 17.57 ಚ.ಕಿ.ಮೀ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ. ಬೀಡಿ ಕಟ್ಟುವ ಕೆಲಸ ನಗರದ ಜನರ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ುದ್ಯೋಗ .

Brief Introduction :-Sira ULB was started as Town Municipal Council in 1901.It was then costituted as City Municipal Council in 30/12/2006.Sira ULB Contains 31 Wards and equal number of Councilors.The population of the Sira City is 50,088 as per Census 2001.The total area of the City is 17.57 sq.kms. The website of Sira City is launched on 01-08-2007. It will be Considered as a KMRP town .

ಗಣಕೀಕರಣ: ಶಿರಾ ನಗರಸಭೆಯು 1990 ರಿಂದ ಈ ದಿನದವರೆಗೆ ಜನನ ಮತ್ತು ಮರಣ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗಣಕೀಕೃತಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದು ನಾಗರೀಕರು ಇನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆ ಜನನ - ಮರಣ ನೊಂದಾಣಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇವಾ ಶುಲ್ಕ ಪಾವತಿಸಿ ಪಡೆಯಬಹುದೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಲು ಹರ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಇದರ ಬಳಕೆಯನ್ನು ಸದುಪಯೋಗಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೇಂದು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

COMPUTERIZATION:     We are very happy to intimate the citizens of Sira City that we have computerizes the  Birth and Death certificates from January-1990 to till date under state Government KMRP computerization scheme, from now onwards citizens are requested to visit the  office for registration and getting of Birth and Death certificates by paying service fee. Citizens are requested to make use of this facility.

ಘನತ್ಯಾಜ್ಯ ವಸ್ತು ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ: ನಗರದ 22 ವಾಡ್ ðಗಳ ಬೀದಿ ಕಸ ಗುಡಿಸುವುದು ಸ್ವಚ್ಛತೆ ಮತ್ತು ನೈರ್ಮಲ್ಯ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಹೊರಗುತ್ತಿಗೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಗರಸಭೆಯ 31 ವಾರ್ಡಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮನೆ-ಮನೆ ಕಸ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಣೆ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು  ನಗರಸಭೆಯ ಉಳಿದ ವಾರ್ಡಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಟ್ಯ್ರಾಕ್ಟರ್ ಮತ್ತು ತಳ್ಳುವ ಗಾಡಿಗಳ ಮಖೇನ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂದ ಪಟ್ಟಂತೆ  ಯಾವುದಾದರು ದೂರುಗಳಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಾಯವಾಣಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರವನ್ನು ಸಂಪರ್ಕಿಸುವುದು ದೂ:(08135-275065).

Solid Waste Management: Solid Waste Management in 22 wards has been outsourced. It includes  street sweeping and waste transportation and 9 Wards has been maintained by ULB.  Door to door waste collection is in 31 wards of the Town with the help of ULB's Tractor & pushcarts.If you have any complaints regarding  solid waste management please call our helpline No-08135-275065.
